Krasnodar, 21 February. On the upcoming long weekend, up to 15,000 holidaymakers will be coming to Sochi every day, stated the city’s Winter Season Operations Centre.
Due to four days-off, the alpine skiing resorts forecast that the average occupancy of their hotels will exceed 70%.
What is more, nearly all fourand five-star hotels have already been booked out.
Last week, Rosa Khutor welcomed its 15-millionth visitor. It was a 39-year-old Muscovite who was presented with a two-person gift certificate for summer recreation.
The low temperatures and continuous snowfall are beneficial for alpine skiing resorts.
At press time, most of the pistes were open for skiing. They can serve over 14,000 tourists a day.
A special programme is developed for hiking enthusiasts.
“We are pleased that tourists keep on choosing Sochi for their summer and winter holidaymaking,” Vice Mayor Nikolai Beskrovny said.
