Krasnodar, 20 October – Yug Times. Traffic has resumed on the Fadeyevsky Overpass, with one side of the bridge now carrying traffic in each direction.
The reopening allows trolleybus No. 7 and bus No. 30 to return to their usual routes. The works are being carried out under the regional 25/35 road and transport network development programme. The project is currently around 75% complete.
“The Fadeyevsky Overpass is a vital part of Krasnodar’s transport system – you could call it the gate way to the city. Restoring traffic for both private and public transport is a significant event for the regional capital,” said Acting Mayor Dmitri Vasilyev.
Two-way traffic has been opened on the right-hand side of the road leading from the city towards the airport. Work on the pavements, noise barriers and lighting is almost complete.
“Work continues on the other half of the overpass, including the installation of storm drains, water and gas pipelines, as well as earth works on the approach roads,” said Deputy Mayor Vladimir Arkhipov.
Construction is also continuing at the junction of Pervogo Maya Street and Fadeyev Street. All lanes on the overpass are expected to reopen at the end of this year or the beginning of next year.
