Krasnodar, 31 Мay. An eco-friendly beach has reportedly been opened in Sochi. What is at issue is the Mayak (Lighthouse) beach at Primorskaya Embankment that recently was reopened after a full reconstruction.
According to the Mayor’s Office’s press office, the works included uninstallation of out-dated constructions, cleaning and landscaping of the territory. The old public utilities were fully replaced with a new up-to-date water disposal system. The new street lighting was equipped with low-energy light bulbs. New equipment for economic use of water was installed. The beach was furnished with furniture made from recycled plastic. Besides, a plastic recycling kiosk was installed in the beach. Eco Sochi volunteers are informing the visitors of the beach about a possibility to recycle plastic bottles.
“The revamped beach represents a new public space with up-to-date strolling and recreation zones. The complex is equipped with a children’s playground, yoga space, artificial pond, first aid post, and baby care room.
