Krasnodar, 2 June. Sports infrastructure will reportedly be actively developed in Sochi during the next two years.
Commenting on the initiative, Director of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Sochi Mayor’s Office Anatoli Miroshnikov said that currently more than 265,000 locals of all ages are engaged in regular sports activities. In 2021–2023, a number of sports infrastructural projects are to be implemented in Sochi. The list includes multifunctional sports and playgrounds with a workout simulators zone in Lazarevskoe and Maly Kichmai.
The plans also include the construction of three universal walking-distance sports complexes whose projects are presently being financed from the budget: a gym in Nizhniaya Khobza, a martial arts hall in Kudepsta, and a universal complex with a six-lane swimming pool in the Central District.
Besides, in the framework of the regional project “Sports as a life standard” 27 sports facilities were purchased this year for a training ground for the Fit for Labour and Defence program.
