Krasnodar, 14 January. Over the first nine months of 2020, the total sum of goods and services paid with bankcards in Krasnodar krai equalled to 550 billion roubles, the Chief Southern Directorate of the Bank of Russia announced.
The volume of cashless transactions in the region grew by 16% comparing to the same period of 2019. The number of bankcard transactions exceeded 730 million (by 37% more than in 2019).
The Bank of Russia asserted that people more often use cards to buy products and services rather than to withdraw cash at ATMs.
In 2020, the share of cashless purchases in the total number of bankcard operations approx- imated 90%. It became possible due to an active growth of the banking infrastructure, and introduction of new payment services.
As on October 1, 2020, there were 31.2 bankcard payment kiosks per 1,000 residents in the region.
