Krasnodar, 23 July. The regional Legislative Assembly has reviewed the results of the parliamentary year.
In his report, Yuri Burlachko, Chairperson of the regional parliament, stated that in September 2019 – June 2020 the Legislative Assembly had adopted 226 bills and 600 resolutions. The regional deputies submitted five legislative initiatives to the State Duma, and adopted 11 appeals to the supreme bodies of the state power.
They also organised 65 inspections of the observance of legislation, of which 35 were reviewed and approved during the sessions. To compare: there were twenty such approvals taken during the previous parliamentary year.
It was emphasised that socially important issues were considered at the hearings, meetings, roundtables and conferences – altogether, the regional parliament held 256 such events. Despite the restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic, over 70,000 Kuban residents visited the meetings and personal receptions organised by the regional MPs.
The peculiarity of this parliamentary year was that five of its sixteen plenary meetings were extraordinary. Mr. Burlachko noted that it was an unusual ration, however justified by the unusual specificity of the year caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
