Krasnodar, 9 July. By 1 August, town planning Councils will reportedly be founded in the Kuban municipalities.
The Councils will be formed by representatives of the local public activists, Governor Veniamin Kondratiev explained, speaking at a session of the Public Town Planning Council of Krasnodar.
The session was devoted to the discussion of further territorial development of the cities and rayons of Krasnodar krai. The session began with the evaluation of the coordinating work on the draft master plan of the city. The governor encouraged the audience to begin public discussion of the document, and to give an opportunity to the maximum possible number of the townspeople, experts and business circles to take part in the discussion process.
City Mayor Yevgeni Pervyshov reported that the master plan has already been approved by the relevant regional and federal structures, and now a new stage, public discussion of the draft, has begun.
Commenting on the process of establishment of the municipal town planning Councils, Mr. Kondratiev noted that the decision taken by local self-governing authorities must coincide with the people’s interests.
“When the municipal head gets deeply submerged in the challenges of the issue, we will get a completely different, much better worked and weighed approach,” he stressed.
