Krasnodar, 5 December – Yug Times. Early elections of the rural heads were held in five municipalities of Krasnodar province last week.
On 1 December, residents of six rural settlements: Otrado-Kubanskoe in Gulkevichi rayon, Kulikovskoe in Leningradsky rayon, Kovalevskoe in Novokubansk rayon, Prikubanskoe in Slaviansk rayon, and Golubitskoe and Fontalovskoe in Temriuk rayon - had to elect new local leaders.
All 19 constituencies opened at 8:00. Fifty-seven public observers watched the order. After the election, they reported that the election day passed without disturbances.
“If we are to compare, then of course a federal election passes more actively than a local one,” Vladimir Korobchak, deputy chair of the regional Civic Chamber, commented. “Nonetheless, many people understood that they were electing the person directly responsible for their lives.”
Vitali Meshcheriakov, an observer at the Kulikovskoe constituency, also noted that the election day passed calmly and quietly.
