Krasnodar, 20 September – Yug Times. The main theme of a recent briefing chaired by Governor Veniamin Kondratiev was to establish the boundaries of submergence zones in the region. Mr. Kondratiev stressed that the decision on where to perform shore protection works and build dams, and where the only way-out is to resettle the local inhabitants must be taken as soon as possible.
“Now a large-scale investigation of the region’s rivers and settlements is being performed - and by the end of the year it must be fully completed,” he said.
The works reportedly include cleaning of the main water streams and road and under-bridge headrooms where jams are often formed,
To resolve the problem at Sukko, Anapa will receive 80 million roubles from the federal and regional budgets. The project provides for the shore protection works and construction of water-control installations to let possible floods pass down. The fulfilment of the works has been scheduled for 2020 — 2021.
