Krasnodar, 27 October – Yug Times. Sochi has purchased 37 new buses. The first eight new buses have started operating on route No. 17. The vehicles were purchased using funds from the federal, regional and city budgets. This was announced by the resort administration’s press office.
The new buses are equipped with air conditioning, CCTV cameras, electronic display boards and satellite navigation. Fares can be paid via ticket validators – without the need for a conductor.
– The renewal of the bus fleet in Sochi is a systematic process and is being carried out as part of the national ‘Infrastructure for Life’ project. This work is a key component in improving the quality of transport services in Sochi. As we renew the fleet, we take into account the diverse needs of the city’s residents and visitors to the resort. The buses are fitted with modern equipment, which makes journeys more comfortable and safer, including for passengers with reduced mobility. For our part, we will continue this practice – the application for next year has already been drawn up. Based on this, we plan to acquire a further 55 vehicles,” noted Vyacheslav Bauer, Deputy Head of Sochi.
