Krasnodar region closes the top ten of the Russian regions with the highest share of overdue credit payments.
As on April 1, 2019, the share of mortgage loans with payments more than 90 days late was 1.5%. The figure did not change since 2018. But different regions showed different result: some had a minimum or decreasing share of delays, while others showed an increasing share – like Krasnodar region. Such situation was caused by different peculiarities of different areas.
As for Krasnodar region, experts believe that it was a bad credit portfolio and a large quantity of dwellings sold against security of immovable property that contributed to the growth of overdue debts. The lowest shares of mortgage loans with payments more than 90 days late were registered in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area (0.9%), Vologda (1%), Tomsk (1%), Arkhangelsk (1%), Omsk (1.1%) and Orenburg (1.1%) regions.
The total amount of mortgage loans issued in Krasnodar region last year was 78.5 billion roubles. It was the highest figure in the Southern Federal District (by 15.7 billion roubles more than in Rostov region – 62.8 billion roubles).
