Krasnodar, 12 December – Yug Times. Krasnodar has reportedly played host to the first city forum, entitled Civil Solidarity.

The main issue of the event was the discussion of the Strategy of socio-economic development of Krasnodar for the period up to 2030. The forum was attended by more than 300 public activists, of whom 100 represented various public organisations working in Krasnodar. The forum had six thematic platforms to discuss topical issues of the city and ask questions to the authors and developers of the new projects. One of the platforms was devoted to the discussion of the urban environment and preservation of the city’s green zones. The participants of the Volunteership platform discussed the tasks on coordination of various volunteer organisations, development of the mechanism of interaction, and cooperation with the enterprises and companies located in Krasnodar. But it was the Business Krasnodar platform that was the hottest spot of the forum - its participants discussed the promising ways of development of the city’s economy.

In his welcoming speech, Mayor Yevgeni Pervyshov said that an open dialog between the authorities and the population is very important for the development and implementation of new projects.

“Krasnodar needs initiative professionals, deep in the city’s problems and ready to constantly work on then,” he said. “We are open for cooperation, for new ideas and new people. This why Krasnodar is ready to keep on developing its sphere of non-commercial organisations and give them support.” The development of the transport and logistic infrastructure, redistribution of the traffic streams, opening of new traffic centres, and an opportunity to build a hub close to the airport in Pashkovsky was a separate theme for discussion. In the participants’ opinion, the forum did fulfil its main task - it became a platform for active dialog between public organisations and the city authorities, which should help in their joint work aimed at further development of the city. The participants agreed that such forums should be held annually.
