Krasnodar, 10 August – Yug Times. Variants of four new tramways are reportedly being considered in Krasnodar.
Their total length will be 26 km. The experts have already begun to assess the possibility of construction of a new tramway in the residential communities that most urgently need them.
Tentatively, the trams will be plying to Vostochno-Kruglikovsky neighbourhood, from Krasnykh Zor to Dombaiskaya streets; to Gidrostroitelei neighbouhood, from Machuga to Nevkipely streets; to Muzykalny neighbourhood from Moskovskaya to Metalnikov streets; and to Krasnodar International Airport from Bershanskaya street.
“For Krasnodar, trams are an economic base of public transport, and it’s a strategic task to develop it, bearing in mind the current load of our roads,” Mayor Yevgeni Pervyshov stressed.
The preparatory stage to be accomplished in 2019-202 includes design and survey, and state examination of construction of four tramways. The construction will follow immediately, that is in 2020-2021.
