Krasnodar, 14 March – Yug Times. COFCO International, a China-based company engaged in purchases and deep procession of maize, rice and wheat, is going to buy about a million tons of grain crops from the Krasnodar region.
At the same time, Jingtao (Johnny) Chi, CEO of COFCO International Ltd., was quoted as saying that his company plans to increase these volumes to two or three million tons.
“The [Krasnodar] region has created advantageous conditions for foreign investors,” stressed Chi. “Relying on our productions in China, we will be developing the turnover with the region. I hope that our cooperation will enter a new stage.”
Reportedly, Kuban is prepared to grant an investment ground to build a vegetable oil and flour producing facility. Besides, the region is interested in cooperation with China as regards increase of the supplies of Kuban meat and poultry to the Chinese market.
“We are an agricultural region, so we produce agricultural products in big volumes,” commented Governor Veniamin Kondratiev. “In future, we will be able to export agricultural products in large volumes to China.”
