Krasnodar, 23 January – Yug Times. Krasnodar City Mayor Yevgeni Pervyshov has asked not to force the issue of construction of a new automobile bridge over the Kuban River.

The city authorities do not see the construction of an alternate to Yablonovsky Bridge as a priority project. Mr. Pervyshov noted that Krasnodar dwellers do not need it, so let the authorities of the Republic of Adyghea bother about its construction, as far as it is their inhabitants that “prefer to come to work and have fun in Krasnodar, not the other way round.”

“If, for instance, our neighbours would suggest they would cover 50% of the construction works, then we would start thinking [about this construction],” said Mr. Pervyshov. “We can develop some long-term plans, but we should always bear in mind the costs and our budget possibilities.”

Construction experts also support the idea that the new bridge would worsen the situation in the city. In their opinion, if a new bridge would be built, it would result in a boom in the construction activity in Adyghea’s Takhtamukai rayon with the infrastructure not being able to catch up with it.
