Krasnodar, 18 January – Yug Times. The year 2018 may become a turning point in the development of rural tourism in Russia.
The State Duma is currently considering a bill meant to govern this segment of the tourist industry. Our expert Zarema Fatikova, founder of the autonomous noncommercial organization Agritourism Development Centre in the Krasnodar region, believes that this document will provide an additional impetus not only to the tourist sector but to the complex development of Russian rural territories on the whole.
“Every project, if fulfilled, provides new jobs, and sometimes it requires from rural inhabitants to be prepared to learn new, unusual trades. For instance, rural tourism needs tour guides, instructors (in various spheres - from horse riding to culinary), and animators. Besides, these projects tend to expand — if some route is in demand, both its duration and length increase, with new participants joining in, so that the number of locals involved also grows.”
