Krasnodar, 11 October – Yug Times. In the framework of the Council on Physical Training and Sports and Supervisory Board “Organizing Committee Russia — 2018”held last week in Moscow Kremlin, Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev presented a model of the Fisht sports arena in Sochi to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to Mr. Kondratiev, the upgraded stadium will be able to accommodate 45,000 fans. Thankful to the reconstruction that cost 4 billion rubles, the Fisht has turned into a state-of-the-art football arena, fully fit to host the World Cup.
Mr. Kondratiev also stressed that the Krasnodar region guarantees that the football championship will be held at the highest possible level.
President Putin highly appreciated the region’s preparedness to the World Cup and thanked all who took part in the organization of the Confederation Cup, “a dress rehearsal” of the upcoming Mundial.
