Examining a batch of citrus fruit that arrived from Georgia to the Russian port of Novorossiysk, the customs officers spotted about 40 tons of supposedly Turkish tangerines, announced the Southern Customs Administration.

The expert's conclusion proved the customs' doubt about the origin of the fruit - they had been grown in Turkey. The rest of the lot (about 67 tone) were tangerines grown in Abkhazia and Georgia.

The Turkish fruit were banned from crossing the Russian border - so the goods left the territory of the Eurasian Customs Union, with an administrative proceeding initiated against their carrier.
