The Krasnodar region is prepared to hold a Russia - ASEAN summit, stated Governor Veniamin Kondratiev on Monday.
The summit is to be held in Sochi on May 19 - 20.
Mr. Kondratiev was quoted as saying that 230 volunteers have been selected for the summit, and the concept of accommodation of its participants has been thought of. Reportedly, the international airport of Sochi is also getting prepared to meet the delegations.
The agenda of the forum consists of a business part and cultural events - say, a concert of the universally recognized Kuban Cossack Choir has been scheduled.
Association of Southeast Asian Nations is a political, economic and cultural regional intergovernmental organization of the Southeast Asian countries. It was founded in 1967 in Bangkok.
Currently, it unites 10 members-states: Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines. Russia maintains full-value dialogue partnership with ASEAN since 1996.
The Sochi summit is devoted to the 20th anniversary of Russia - ASEAN relations. Its agenda includes a business forum, where the leading business and political figures and think tanks from Russia and ASEAN member-states will discus a number of key issues of trade-economic, investment and technological cooperation.
