Krasnodar, 8 October – Yug Times. On the Federal Territory of Sirius, the cycle network will be expanded fourfold.
At present, the cycling network there extends for 15.9 kilometres. Its expansion will follow the approved transport strategy and is set to be completed by 2030.
“The cycle-and-running path is an integral part of sporting life in Sirius. Thanks to the warm climate, outdoor sport is possible almost all year round,” said Dmitri Plish kin, head of the Sirius administration.
Currently, the cycle path along the Olympic Embankment stretches nearly five kilometres. The authorities have decided to extend it further. A new path has been laid along Golubaya Street and the banks of the Mzymta River. Work is now being finalised on the route near the road bridge leading to Kaspiyskaya Street, where landscaping has also been carried out.
“The bicycle is a convenient and eco-friendly mode of transport. We will continue to develop the necessary infrastructure for it,” summed up Dmitri Plishkin.
