Krasnodar, 15 August – Yug Times. Over 27,000 tonnes of fruit and berries have been harvested in the Kuban region since the beginning of the year.

Horticultural farms in the Krasnodar region continue harvesting pome, stone and small fruits.

"The Krasnodar region is one of the key fruit and berry producing regions, with more than 140 large and medium-sized farms and 270 small farms engaged in industrial fruit production. Our products are distributed nationwide. In order to increase the production volumes, horticultural enterprises expand consistently, new farms are opened, and the area of orchards and berry farms is growing. For these purposes gardeners can receive state support in the form of subsidies and grants," said Fedor Dereka, Minister of Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Krasnodar region.

Since the beginning of the year, the gross yield of fruit and berry products has exceeded 27,000 tonnes, including about 19,000 tonnes of pome fruits, 7,100 tonnes of stone fruits and over 1,100 tonnes of small fruit crops. In 2024, the region has allocated 1.1 billion roubles for the development of horticulture.
