Krasnodar, 31 July – Yug Times. Yuri Burlachko, the Chairperson of the regional Legislative Assembly, has reportedly supported the initiative to replace the resort fee with a tourist tax. He expressed his opinion in his social network account.
"Not so long ago, the Ministry of Finance of Russia came forward with an initiative to introduce a tourist tax instead of the resort fee. It has already been supported by colleagues in the State Duma. Now the [hospitality] industry is still discussing the appropriateness of the proposed measure. We, in turn, see great potential in it. The new tax will be administered by the Federal Tax Service, which will ensure full transparency, while the payer will be the accommodation facility,’ the chairman of the Kuban parliament believes. "At the same time, the efficiency will increase. The tax rate will depend on the cost of accommodation, and all proceeds will go to the local budget."
