Krasnodar, 17 April – Yug Times. This year, 211 local initiative projects are being implemented in the Kuban region.
The works are being carried out as part of the Initiative Budgeting project, which is designed to stimulate residents' ideas and attract local councils to the partnership. This is the fifth year of the project in the Krasnodar region.
A total of 421 applications were submitted this year for participation in the programme. Two hundred and eleven projects – more than a half of their total number – were named winners. One billion roubles will be allocated for their implementation.
About 1.2 million Kuban residents were involved in the process of discussion and preparation of local initiative projects, which was five times more than back in 2020. This year, local initiatives from all 388 municipalities of the Kuban region were eligible to take part in the competition.
"Over the past four years, about 1.3 billion roubles have been spent within the framework of the competition," said Governor Veniamin Kondratiev.
Last year 138 projects were realised within the framework of the competition.
