Krasnodar, 28 March – Yug Times. More than 400 million roubles have been raised for the development of beaches of Sochi's Central District. By the summer holiday season, an upgraded main municipal beach will be opened, which will bring together three beaches up to the mouth of the Sochi River into one landscaped recreation seaside area. The news was announced at a meeting on the development of beach areas of the Central District.
Currently, the third stage of improvement is being completed there, which involved a more than five hectares of public space from the Riviera Bridge to the Black Sea coast.
"All improvement stages of Riviera Beach and adjacent areas have formed a large city-wide park zone on the left bank of the Sochi River, which is part of our Two Rivers - One Sea project. In total, 19 beach areas will be ready for recreation of our residents and guests in the Central District of Sochi in the summer holiday season,” said Sochi Mayor Aleksei Kopaigorodsky.
The third stage includes the already implemented circular and transit tourist pedestrian routes along the riverside embankment and seafront, a multi-level public garden, a multifunctional area with amphitheatres and a children's playground.
