Krasnodar, 25 August – Yug Times. A modern source of communication using spacecraft has reportedly been tested in the mountains of Adyghea.
It was Russia’s first video communication session with domestic-made low-orbit spacecraft for a territory without cellular network coverage. The connection was established between the Flight Control Centre of Bureau 1440 LLC in Moscow and Mount Fisht in the Republic of Adyghea, which stands outside the service area of traditional communication services and within the boundaries of the Caucasus State Natural Biosphere Reserve. The test was the first attempt to hold a videoconference between subscribers located in Moscow and those at the foot of Mount Fisht, at an altitude of 1600 metres above sea level. The communication session was held between Dmitri Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, and Zaurbek Shu, Minister of Digital Development, Information and Telecommunication Technologies of the Republic of Adyghea.
