Krasnodar, 28 June – Yug Times. Over 13 billion roubles have reportedly been earmarked for the upgrading of the region’s public utilities infrastructure. Participation of the region’s municipalities in the new programme was discussed last week at a meeting chaired by Deputy Governor Andrei Proshunin and attended by municipal heads and executive officers.
“The regional programme for modernisation of the public utilities infrastructure is intended for several years. It is unique in terms of costs and facilities coverage. For the municipal leaders, it is an excellent opportunity to upgrade old, worn-out water supply, sewerage and heating networks with the use federal and regional funds. The projects to be implemented in 2023 and 2024 cost 13.7 billion roubles,” said Andrei Proshunin. Galina Vitkovskaya, Deputy Minister of Fuel and Energy Sector, and Housing and Utilities Services, reported that ten municipalities have not yet applied for the participation in the programme.
