Krasnodar, 6 April. Complex development of municipal transport was the theme of the discussion recently held in Krasnodar.
The project of urban electric municipal transport in Krasnodar includes two concessions on construction of new tramways and accompanying infrastructure in the city’s western and eastern parts. The project of the ‘eastern’ concession provides for the laying of about 35 km of rails, construction of a 150-carriage depot, and purchase of tramcars. The new tramways will be laid from Ttramvainaya to Snesarev Streets, from Geroev Razvedchikov to Bagrianaya Street and Eastern Detour, and from Dekabristov to Dombaiskaya Street.
The ‘western’ concession provides for the laying of 35.6 km of tramways with accompanying infrastructure, and purchase of 100 upto-date tramcars.
Commenting on the issue, Governor Veniamin Kondratiev said that Krasnodar is one of Russia’s fastest growing cities whose transport network is hardly coping with the passenger load.
