Krasnodar, 21 February. The Russian Government has reportedly approved the funding programme for the construction of a sport medicine and rehabilitation centre in Sochi.
The Mayor’s Office announced that the centre will be built on the site of the Research Institute of Spa Medicine and Rehabilitation at Kurortny Prospect.
The new facility will comprise a medical rehabilitation hospital for athletes – members of Russian national teams, and an R&D department engaged in sport medicine.
The project will be implemented as part of the five-year state programme “Construction.”
“Sochi has always been famous for its opportunities in the sphere of rehabilitation medicine – due to the natural factors and the traditional and innovative means of spa rehabilitation applied there.
This work is becoming more sought-after among the tourists,” Sochi Mayor Aleksei Kopaigorodsky noted.
