Krasnodar, 26 January. A unique sports facility has reportedly opened in Gelendzhik.
City Mayor Aleksei Bogodistov wrote about the peculiarities of the new facility in his social media account: “Together with honoured athletes and young activists, we opened a unique public multifunctional open-air sports complex. The campus of the eold skate-park was turned into a state-of-the-art cluster for sports fans.” For these purposes, the city budget had allocated 26.5 million roubles. The 2,800 sq m area encompasses a boxing ring, cage for mixed martial arts, mat for unarmed self-defence, volleyball ground, 18 weight machines, a multifunctional climbing frame, and space with a screen to take up fitness. The main zones are covered with awnings to handle workouts in any weather. “The new sports ground was ‘inscribed’ into the existing landscape. Not a single tree suffered during the implementation of the project,” Mr. Bogodistov said. “The oldtimers as well as the youth have already been able to assess the new training facility.”
