Krasnodar, 30 December. Today our interviewee is Aleksandr Vlasov, Vice Governor of Krasnodar Krai, and Ataman of the Kuban Cossack Host.
Q.: Reviewing the results of the work of the Kuban Cossack Host in the year 2022, which activities would you distinguish?
A.: Structure-wise, the Kuban Cossack Host consists of 558 communities stretched across three Russian regions and the Republic of Abkhazia. This year, the Krasnodar region topped the rating list of the Russian regions participating in the implementation of the Strategy of the state policy with regard to Russian Cossacks.
Q.: The Cossacks are getting more integrated in the contemporary society. What are their main activities at present?
A.: The line of state duty is one of the major and strategically important activities of the Kuban Cossack Host. Presently, over 1,700 Cossacks secure public order together with police officers. Cossacks are also involved in nature protecting activity; they counter drug trafficking and assist in overcoming the consequences of emergency situations and natural calamities.
Q.: How does the Kuban Cossack Host contribute to the sphere of grant policy?
A.: A project studio has been operating on the basis of the Kuban Cossack Host for nearly two years. In 2022, over 22.5 million roubles were raised to support 36 projects submitted by winning applicants.
