Krasnodar, 6 December. In Adygea, the problem of helping children suffering from rare diseases was considered.
The discussion was initiated by citizens who addressed the head of the republic Murat Kumpilov during a personal reception. They asked about supporting children with PKU and providing them with protein-free or low-protein foods. Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Rustem Meretukov explained, currently 30 people suffering from chronic rare diseases are registered in the republic, of which 13 people (including 10 children) have phenylketonuria.
People with this disease can lead a normal life, provided that the diet is strictly followed. For this purpose state support is provided. This year, 38 million rubles have been allocated from the republican budget for the provision of medical care, including the purchase of clinical nutrition products, for people with orphan diseases. This is 2.9 million rubles more than in 2021.
