Krasnodar, 1 December. During the Harvest Day held in Adyghea last week, the region tallied up the results of this year’s agricultural season.
In 2022, the harvested acreage amounted to 124,400 hectares. Up to date, the grain yield totalled to 616,700 tons, but the total yearly yield is expected to approximate to 625,000 tons, of which 480,000 tons will fall on winter crops with the average yield of 5.03 tons per hectare, which was nearly by 10% more than last year. Horticulture also shows good results in the region. Presently, the total area of orchards exceeds 4,200 hectares, including over 1,800 hectares of intensive-type gardens. The area of perennial plantations grew by 17%, which allowed to increase the gross yield of fruit and berry crops to 35,200 tons.
Besides, in 2022 the local processing factories shipped finished products to the total amount of 26.8 billion roubles, or by 41% more than in 2021. The dairy industry produced 19,400 tons of cheese and cheese-based products, which was by 18% more than in the same period of 2021.
