Krasnodar, 23 November. Over the past six months, the inflation level in the Krasnodar Region has been decreasing, staying below the average national level. In October, the yearly inflation in the region was 11.5%. Food products showed the least price rises. Say, cucumbers got cheaper, and downward movement for potatoes, tomatoes and onion prices accelerated. It happened due to the growing offer of vegetables in the market – local farmers managed to expand the area under crops and thereby to increase the yield.
“As for the non-food products, the price rise was to a greater extent slowed down by the restrained demand. Its splash was observed in the early spring, when people, wary of durable goods shortages, were buying them up, thereby warming up the inflation process. Now the deliveries of imported goods are improving, and the offer is expanding. We see that the price rise for household appliances is reducing, and some items have even got cheaper compared with last year,” commented Yelena Kravchenko, Director of Economy Department of the Southern Main Directorate of the Bank of Russia.
