Krasnodar, 28 September. Additional 850 separate waste collection containers will reportedly be installed in Sochi.
The new containers for plastic waste will appear in the courtyards in all city districts. To date, there are 800 such containers in the city. “Segregated collection simplifies isolation of reusable waste. It allows to return maximum materials back to industrial turnover and reduce waste removal expenses,” explained Irina Uyutkina, Director of Sochi City Administration’s Department of Economy and Strategic Development.
The regional budget will allocate 16.6 million roubles to purchase separate waste collection containers. In total, the region’s municipalities will receive over 71 million roubles for that purpose. Now there are more than 5,000 such containers installed throughout the region.
