Krasnodar, 19 October. The acceptance of documents for the mayor’s post was closed in Krasnodar last week.
During the submission period lasting from September 15 until October 14, fourteen candidates were registered.
“Now we will have to check the documents and evaluate their completeness and trustworthiness,” Kirill Pertsev, a member of the competition committee, Deputy Head of Administrative Office – Director of the Legal Department of Krasnodar City Duma, commented.
“By the results of this evaluation, the candidates whose documents comply with the requirements will make it into the second round which is to be held on November 8 in the form of individual interviews.
According to the Krasnodar City Charter, the Mayor is elected by the City Duma among the candidates offered by the competition committee according to the competition results.
The committee should present at least two candidates for the consideration of the City Duma. The final decision will be taken at the session of the City Duma to be held after the session of the competition committee.
The mayor is to be elected with the participation of representatives of the regional authorities.
