Krasnodar, 24 June. The development of continuous Cossack education was reportedly discussed in the Kuban region. The meeting to review the results of the first six months of the year was chaired over by Vice Governor and Cossack Host Ataman Aleksandr Vlasov. 

“Over the past six months, the status of ‘Cossack educational facility’ was given to two schools and six kindergartens with nearly 800 pupils. At present, we are considering 18 applications – from 13 schools and five kindergartens of the Krasnodar region; we are involved in this work on permanent basis,” Aleksandr Vlasov explained. 

Since the beginning of the year, the Cossack status was given to several schools from Sochi and Leningradsky rayon, and to kindergartens from Timashevsk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kushchevsky, Kurganinsk, Krymsk and Abinsk rayons. 

According to the Chairperson of the Kuban Young Cossack League Nikita Dziuba, Cossack classes and new branches of their movement will open in a number of secondary schools in the following school year.

 “By the end of the year, the number of students in Cossack classes <…> will reach 115,000 persons,” Nikita Dziuba said. 

At present, there are nearly 5,000 Cossack classes in the Krasnodar region.
