Krasnodar, 22 March. The current situation in the national labour market was discussed last week at a session of the Interdepartmental Commission of Russia’s Security Council.
The session was chaired over by Security Council Deputy Chair Dmitri Medvedev and attended, among others, by Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev.
Mr. Kondratiev reported that 65,000 foreign citizens are currently employed in Krasnodar Krai, including nationals of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Armenia and Kazakhstan. Almost a half of them work in the construction sphere. At present, there is no need to hire additional migrants.
“Our position is a well-weighed and substantiated approach to the invitation of foreign labour. Currently we together with constructor companies are studying the real demand of them. We analyzed all graduates of our construction colleges and universities and saw that half of them are not employed. We are prepared to help them, and we suggest that employers pay attention first of all to Russian specialists,” Veniamin Kondratiev said.
Meanwhile, the price of a labour patent has been increased by 30%. The region is working on a resolution forbidding employment of foreigners in 77 kinds of activity, including trade, public catering and processing industry. In these sectors, the number of the unemployed exceeds the number of announced vacancies.
