Krasnodar, 7 December. The topic of juvenile delinquency prevention has been discussed at a meeting of the Regional Commission on Minors and the Protection of Minor Rights.
The event was chaired by Vice-Governor Anna Minkova.
- The key tasks with which we have been confronted this year, have been successfully solved. The welfare campaign was successful enough, even in times of pandemic. For the employment of teenagers we have, in practice, reached pre-pandemic indicators, - she said.
Sergey Garkusha, the Minister for Labor and Social Development of the Kuban region, said that this year crime rates among teenagers in the Kuban have decreased by 7.7%, and repeated offenders - by 5%. Most of the violations committed by teenagers happen during night time. In this regard, the Vice-Governor has instructed to strengthen control over the “Children law”. Anna Minkova also urged not to underestimate the statistics and not to be afraid to put problematic children on record.
- The inevitability of punishment and a strict control are the main tools to reduce juvenile delinquency. The same concepts apply to control over difficult families. It should be done correctly though, with a respectful attitude towardsp people, - stressed Anna Minkova.
