Sochi: Mayor’s Office Promises to Consider Townsfolk’s Opinion

Krasnodar, 19 November. The new City Master Plan will reportedly undergo public discussions in all districts, Sochi Mayor Aleksei Kopaigorodsky announced last week. 

“Sochi will be such as its dwellers want to see it. It is important to know the opinion of residents of every district and every street. Together with territorial public self-government activists and local deputies, we will summon meetings in all settlements. The new Master Plan will reflect the proposals and wishes that will be stated by local dwellers,” Mayor Aleksei Kopaigorodsky stressed.

 Suchlike public discussions held earlier in Anapa and Gelendzhik led to a stir among the public. In Sochi, executives of the Department for Architecture and Urban Constructions collected proposals to the Master Plan submitted by public activists, reviewed them and readdressed to the contractor. 

In addition to that, Sochi dwellers may express their opinion at the Master Plan’s official website by answering the opinion poll and assessing the quality of the urban environment.
