Krasnodar, 9 November. Last week, Nikita Stasishin, Russia’s Deputy Minister of Construction and Residential and Utilities Services, visited Gelendzhik to check the implementation of the city’s water supply improvement programs.
Mr. Stasishin inspected the household sewage system and treatment facilities, and chaired over a working meeting.
The construction of the treatment facilities and reconstruction of the existing water disposal facilities were the main items of the meeting.
“As for the treatment facilities, their financial coverage is fully ensured, and all [required] contracts have been duly signed. The construction sites are well-prepared and equipped with machines and mechanisms. Now, following the final formation and getting all approvals, the project is at the threshold of a big construction activity whose considerable part should be completed by the beginning of the new resort season,” Nikita Stasishin noted.
The attention was also paid to the reconstruction of the stormwater sewage system which should protect the city from inundations during heavy downpours. At present, the reconstruction project is at the stage of preparation.
The works in the framework of the federal and regional programs and the national project “Accommodation and urban environment” include reconstruction of the existing treatment facilities, water pipelines, water intakes, etc., and construction of new suchlike facilities.
