Krasnodar, 20 October.
Kuban farmers will reportedly receive 9.3 billion roubles as federal and regional subsidies. According to the regional authorities, over 77% of this money has already been directed to agricultural companies and farmers.
The money will be spent to support leading branches of the agricultural sector and to develop rural localities. Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev emphasized the priority directions of governmental support of the agricultural sector:
“By volumes of potable milk, the Kuban region is the national champion – we produce over 1.5 million tons [of milk] a year. We support stockbreeding both at large companies and in the farmer sector. First of all, we render support to those who are increasing the production of milk. The biggest part of the subsidies – over a billion roubles – will be assigned for these purposes,” Mr. Kondratiev said. “A rouble invested by the budget gives 1.5 roubles in taxed. Over the past five years, tax revenues paid by the agricultural sector have grown by 20.5% to 28.2 billion roubles.”
