Krasnodar, 15 October. The new winter season in Sochi is scheduled to begin on December 17, Rosa Khutor press service announced.

The spokesperson for the alpine resort added that the date may be changed subject to the weather. “As the season approached, the works on improvement of the alpine skiing area were performed. The pistes of Triton, Gorizont and Yavor have become more convenient for skiing. A new transfer hub between the cableways Wolf’s Rock, Caucasian Express and Protection Forest will be built to improve the level of comfort. On that site, a large open ground will appear due to the disassembly of the tunnel, so that this transfer station will be more convenient,” the press service explained.

Rosa Khutor will expand the skiing area of the most sought-after Southern slope by 2.6 km, with opening of a new belt conveyor elevator with a gallery. Another elevator will be installed at Rosa Stadium, where a new training piste for children will be opened. During the season, the resort will be hosting several important sports and musical events.
