Krasnodar, 9 July. The work of tour guides and guide interpreters is now governed by law in the Kuban region.
Last week, the regional deputies specified the terms regarding certain trades, and expanded the competence of the Ministry of Resorts, Tourism and Olympic Heritage in this sphere. Starting from July 1, 2021, the Ministry will be responsible for the work of a special commission charged with attestation of tour guide and guide interpreters, putting them on the uniform federal register, and approval of the design of the identification badge for these specialists.
“These legislative measures are meant to weed out come-and-go people and leave only the most skilful ones. All services rendered at Kuban spas and resorts should be excellent class,” Yuri Burlachko, Chairperson of the regional Legislative Assembly said.
The Ministry of Resorts, Tourism and Olympic Heritage will also control the companies, entrepreneurs and natural persons who work as tour guides or guide interpreters.
