Speaking at the session, Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev said that despite the adoption of a deficit budget, the authority will not be going to cut the main programs: “The social sphere will remain our top priority – 213.9 billion roubles, or 71% of the [regional] budget will be going to cover it, which will let us not only preserve but increase the financial backup of certain activities.”
Of this money, 57.4 billion roubles will be spent to cover social payments, including maternity capital, children’s allowances, reimbursements of payments for public utilities, and privileges to veterans; 35.2 billion roubles will go to cover the construction and reconstruction of major social and communal projects.
In his comment, LA Chairman Yuri Burlachko noted that the current pandemic had introduced certain changes, so the losses borne by the economy this year will continue to tell upon for a certain while.
