Krasnodar, 6 October. Last summer, 27,000 children and teenagers spent their vacations in Krasnodar krai, of which 21,000 were local dwellers. The rest 6,000 kids arrived from other regions, including the Arctic zone. 

The recreation campaign began a month later than usual – on July 1. All camps opened only if they had fulfi lled all recommendations and requirements set by Rospotrebnadzor (Federal Agency for Health and Consumer Rights). “For us as a region that every summer receives over 650,000 children, it was important to hold this year’s health improvement campaign as safely as possible. On one hand, we had to give kids a chance to relax and improve their health, and on the other hand to avoid infecting [them with COVID-19]. And we did succeed,” Governor Veniamin Kondratiev stated. 

The budget of the summer campaign exceeded 2 billion roubles, Mr. Kondratiev added. 

He also said that about 230 million roubles were assigned to compensate for the cost of capital repairs and purchase.
