Krasnodar, 7 July. The global pandemic could not prevent the Kuban agricultural sector from fulfilling its yearly export plans.
According to the regional authorities, the exports of Kuban manufacturers of agricultural products will exceed USD 2.5 billion by the end of this year.
“Despite the coronavirus pandemic and restrictions related to it, the [Kuban] region has already fulfilled the yearly export plan for agricultural products by 44%. Until the end of the year, the total amount of our exports will reach USD 2.522 billion,” Governor Veniamin Kondratiev announced.
Mr. Kondratiev was quoted as saying that due to the pandemic, certain niches were vacated letting the farmers work more actively.
“For our part, we are helping [them] to study thoroughly the market of our overseas partners and to build up connections with them. For instance, in Europe and China there is a demand for rapeseed and soybean and for oil from these products. We can offer these products of high quality and at a competitive price,” he stressed.
Governmental support may be provided for the farmers that want to grow rapeseed and soybeans for export. The federal and regional budgets have allocated 200 million roubles to stimulate the production of these crops.
