Krasnodar, 30 June. The municipal chambers and councils of Krasnodar krai have reportedly topped the list of the best public institutions in South Russia.
The Public Chamber of Krasnodar championed the nomination «Best municipal public chamber (council) of a district with the population of over 50,000 people». The judges noted that the Chamber had raised such topical issues as introduction of digital technologies in housing services and utilities with complete stock-taking of all urban facilities, and improvement of the local authorities’ openness by introducing live Internet transmissions of meetings and sessions of the City Council.
The Public Chamber of Sochi came the third in this nomination. The judges stressed that many events held by the Chamber were dedicated to the formation of active life and civic position, and involvement of local people to the processes of discussion and decision-taking with regard to most important issues of development of the city.
The Public Chamber of Kholmsky, Abinsk rayon, received acknowledgment among the public institutions working in rural settlements.
