Krasnodar, 6 March. Today The Yug Times is receiving two businesswomen, co-owners of the ‘PRO Yuppie’ tailor’s shop – Yelizaveta Pikhtovnikova and Natalia Morozova. They explained why they had decided to open this business and how a woman can realise herself in the business world.
In the past, the two young women worked in the retail sphere. Natalia had always dreamt of opening a tailoring establishment; as for Yelizaveta, she had to come to the tailor’s business because she wanted to get independence from her big boss and start working for herself.
“Young Upwardly Mobile Professionals (a derivative of Young Urban Professional Persons) are young urban professionals aimed at career development. On the one hand, they prefer classic clothing; on the other, they are fond of casual style. Our title fully correlates with our activity. ‘Yuppie’ really reflects the essence of our desire to propagandise a certain clothing style and the skill of wearing suits,” Natalia says.
The company had been developing at the cost of their own accumulations and credits, but quite soon it broke even. At the same time, the competition in their segment was really tough.
“Now there are about 16 shops in Krasnodar with the assortment starting from market and finishing with elite clothes,” Yelizaveta explains. “But our shop presents some basic things of a tailor’s shop: our customers can fit the clothes they bought free of charge.”
Eighty percent of the customers of their shop are bridegrooms; the others are fans of suits eager to wear them every day. Mostly they are men up to 40 years old. This is why, the assortment is represented by youth segment suits that respond to the hottest new trends. The ‘PRO Yuppie’ owners plan to present a collection of their own under their own brand.
