Krasnodar, 19 December – Yug Times. The largest in the Southern Federal District swimming complex will be built in Krasnodar by the end of 2021.
The construction began in 2012 next to the Basket Hall, but it was suspended in 2016 through the contractor’s fault. In 2019, deputies of the City Duma adopted amendments to the general plan of city development, by which the 216-hectare land plot was earmarked for the construction of the sport cluster.
The new complex will consist of a swimming pool with diving towers and a possibility to hold synchronised swimming practices, another swimming pool for children, and a large 50-metre pool for international competitions.
Besides, the campus will include a 500-seat boarding school for young athletes who will live there and develop their skills in various sports.
To complete the project, about 4.5 billion roubles will be needed.
