Krasnodar, 13 December – Yug Times. 0+ The 2019/2020 winter season started at Krasnaya Poliana alpine skiing resort on 6 December.
The pistes were opened at Circus-2 Valley at the altitude of 2,050 m above sea level. There a snowpark for professional riders was built.
The first festive activity, Fun Contest - First Snow, will be held on 14 December. The program includes entertainments and sport contests for skiers and snowboarders.
The official start of the season at Roza Khutor is scheduled for 20 December. If the weather permits, test skiing may commence earlier. At Gazprom’s skiing resort, the beginning of the skiing season along the slopes of Laura and Psenakho will depend on the weather. At the moment, the tentative date is 25 December.
During the 2019/2020 season, 64 cableways and 100 pistes will be working in Sochi. Besides, the night skiing area was expanded by two kilometres, and the total length of the tracks equals to 177 km.
